Neil E. Helterbran

1959 - 2025

Neil E. Helterbran, 65, of Acme, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Monday January 27, 2025. He was born February 25, 1959 in Charleroi, a son of the late Raymond and Joan (Neil) Helterbran. Neil was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1977, where he excelled in wrestling and was a member of the football team. He had worked various jobs for different construction companies but was mostly a self-employed contractor. He was a hard working guy and was always willing to help a neighbor or friend in need. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, loved his cats, and taking care of his home in Bear Rocks. He was a member of the Bear Rocks Community Club and the Bromas Golf League. He is survived by his partner Karla Chavara; his daughters, Desiree Kochasic and her husband Mike and Alyssa Helterbran and boyfriend Jordan; Karla's children who he was close with, Kasie and Cole (Brooke); grandchildren Levi, Hunter, John, Colton, Natalie, Juliette, and Gabriella; his siblings Cheryl Hand (the late Greg), Louis Helterbran (Marsha), and Beth Helterbran (Jody Heberlig); nieces and nephews Max Hand (Sara Burcham-Hand), Elizabeth Hand-Zimmerman (Kevin), Rebecca Stone (Matt), and Matt Helterbran; and great nephew Mackenzie and great nieces Kenley, and Hannah. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 31, and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 1, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
