Olive Chianese

1936 - 2023

Olive "Boots" Chianese, 86, of Lower Burrell, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Born Aug. 19, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Gunner and Olive Scholz Jackson. Olive was a member of the St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Vandergrift, where she was active with St. Vincent de Paul and helping with the church's spaghetti dinners. She was also a volunteer at Forbes Regional Hospital. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Fawcett, of Lower Burrell; and her son, Richard Chianese, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Jesse Fawcett, Danielle Fawcett (Mike Raniero), Desiree (John) D'Alessandro and Nicole Chianese; and four great-grandchildren, Arianna Raniero, Dominic D'Alessandro, Caden Culter and Maverick Verosko. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony L. Chianese; her grandson, Anthony Chianese; and two brothers, James and Mel Harmening. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a funeral Mass, which will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Saint Gertrude Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, with Father James Loew O.S.B. as celebrant.
