Paul F. D'Amore

Paul F. D'Amore, 78, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006, in Washington County Health Center. He was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Donora, the son of the late Anthony and Mary Romano D'Amore. Mr. D'Amore was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township, the Italian Heritage Society of Monessen, and he was a special participant in ACORN Adult Day Center and will be sadly missed by his friends and the staff. He retired after 36 years of service from Ford Motor Co. in Michigan, where he was the coordinator of vehicle transportation in the engineering division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Tarantini D'Amore in 1960. Survivors include his wife, Mary Francis D'Amore; children, Carol Covert and her husband, Charles, of Buena Vista, Colo., Frank D'Amore and significant other, Rick Gillon, of Dearborn, Mich., Barbara Pollock and husband, Jerry, of Livonia, Mich., Rodger Francis and wife, Patty, of South Park, Jane Costa and husband, Joseph, of Belle Vernon, and Robert Francis and wife, Tanya, of Tarrs; grandchildren, Valerie Mahoney, Shaun Covert, Jessica Pollock, Lea Francis, Paige Costa, Debbie Francis and Ryan Francis; great-granddaughter, Dara Mahoney; two sisters, Josephine Laskodi and husband, George, of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Frances Rogliano and husband, Anthony, of British Columbia, Canada; a brother, Anthony D'Amore and wife, Beverly, of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME, 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, 724-379-6900. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township, with the Rev. Fr. Ronald Simboli presiding. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rostraver Public Library or the Alzheimer's Association.
