Paul Wilbur Obituary

Paul C. Wilbur, of Hummelstown, formerly of Connellsville, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born July 6, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of the late Dr. Ronald and Goldie Wilbur. He was a resident of Connellsville before moving to Hummelstown last year. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Ann Wilbur; his daughters, Bonnie Sypolt (Matthew), of Harrisburg, and Katie Wilbur and Rachel Wilbur, of Hummelstown; his grandsons, Jace and Bryce Sypolt; his twin brother, Craig Wilbur; and sisters, Jeanie and Joanne Wilbur. He will also be deeply missed by his special pet friend, Toby. Paul was a 1966 graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School, and he attended college in Lakeland, Fla., as well as Westmoreland Community College, Youngwood, where he earned a degree in photography and multi-media presentation. Paul was a successful and talented self-employed photographer with a deep passion for the outdoors. Paul was the owner of Paul Wilbur Photography for 20 years. Paul was also a faithful man of God and had a deep trust and assurance in God guiding his life. Before pursuing a career in photography, Paul worked in chemical research and development in Savannah, Ga. He extensively enjoyed traveling, camping and exploring the wonders of God's creation. Paul was most happy when he was surrounded by nature. He loved to teach and encourage everyone he met to pursue a spirit of adventure. Paul was a kind and humorous man. He loved riding boats and his motorcycles. He had a special affinity for making others feel important and engaging strangers in conversation. He was a certified instrument and commercial aircraft pilot. Paul was also a certified PADI open water scuba diver.
