Payton E. Johnson

Payton E. Johnson, 14, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, in Independence Health, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 4, 2009, a daughter of Ryan and Addison (Strohbeen) Johnson of Greensburg. Payton recently began her freshman year at Hempfield High School. She is known for always being happy and the very special 'YES' she gave to approve of things. Also, her love of Nike athletic apparel which she proudly wore, and the color red. Payton loved watching her favorite show, Paw Patrol. She is described as a true 'Daddy's Girl,' but notably, she also knew how to stand her ground as she achieved her Yellow Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her 'Make A Wish' dream came true with the gift of a swimming pool which she and her family treasured. Payton loved arcades and was always in awe of 'The Claw Machine.' Payton is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Ryan and Addison Johnson; her older brother, Ayden; and her triplet sister, Riley; her maternal grandparents, Susie Welch and Mark Strohbeen; paternal grandmother, Sylvia Johnson and husband, Eric; aunts and uncles, Jesse Strohbeen (Kerri), Tina Johnson, and Kevin Johnson; and several cousins and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her triplet sister, Alivia D. Johnson, on Aug. 16, 2018; her paternal grandfather, David Johnson; and her step-grandmother, Shotsie Strohbeen. The family would like to express their gratitude to the many doctors and nurses who provided tender care to Payton. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, at New Life Tabernacle Church, 851 S. Center Ave., New Stanton. Additional viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the time of her funeral service, on Monday, Sept. 9, in the church, with Pastor Roland K. Smith officiating.
