Randolph Rearick Obituary

Randolph (Randy) Rearick, 76, of Springdale Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the VA Hospital in Oakland. Randy was born Sept. 12, 1947, in New Kensington, to the late June Goldinger Rearick and Wardley Rearick. He was a graduate of Burrell High School and served his country in the Army from 1966 - 1969, during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Randy enjoyed a long career in logistics with Alcoa Corporation and was proud to be in the Alcoa 25 year Club. Randy was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and treasured friend. Although he was a man of few words, he was also a man with many interests. Throughout the years, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Upper Burrell Fire Department and a longtime member of the Springdale VFW Post 1437. Additionally, he enjoyed many years of participating in the Alcoa Bowling League, the Alcoa Golf League and the VFW Bocce League. Other interests included hunting and fishing with his friends and family and supporting Pittsburgh sports teams. Randy enjoyed Sunday morning coffee with his brother, breakfasts with his two sons, spending time at the beach in Rodanthe, NC, and a good meal and a cold beverage. He is survived by his wife, Susan Mellon Rearick, to whom he was married for 32 years; sons, Randolph W. Rearick of Lower Burrell, and Nicholas B. Rearick of New Kensington; and granddaughter, Ashlynne Rearick of New Kensington. Additionally, he is also survived by sisters-in-law, Patricia Mellon Sworden of Gibsonia and Joan Mellon of Springdale; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his dearest dog, Hattie Mae. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Russell Rearick; sister, Kathleen Collins, in-laws, Wilda and Robert Mellon; and his brother-in-law, Michael Sworden. The family requests that memorial. donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 801 Pittsburgh. Street, where services will commence at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, with burial to follow in Springdale Cemetery. www.jarviefuneralhome.com
