Raymond Orr Obituary

Raymond L. "Bud" Orr, 89, of Jeannette, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born April 13, 1924, in Indiana, Pa., a son of the late Wilbur Lee Orr and Helen (Potts) Orr. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Elliott Co. of Jeannette and he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army. He was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Jeannette, and the Elliott Retirees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Isabel (Rankin) Orr; three sisters, Lola Eckman, Erma Rumbaugh and Lucille Lymer; and two brothers, Russell and Larry Orr. He is survived by two sisters, Bessie George, of Blairsville, and Christine Talley, of Punxsutawney; numerous nieces and nephews; and his girls, Diane Yanizeski and Terri Ketter, both of Jeannette. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Bossart officiating. Interment with military rites will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park.
