Robert D. Frye

Robert D. Frye, 91, of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, in Independence Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Latrobe, a son of the late Johnathan and Ruth (Crowe) Frye. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement in 1990, he was a police officer with the Latrobe Police Department, having 27 years of service. He also was a former co-owner, along with his late brother Harry, of the former Fantastic Fotographica. He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a member of the "33" Club. He was also an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed going to the Live Casino with his daughters and nieces and liked to go hunting in his earlier years. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Frye. He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Fay (Tosh) Frye; six children: Amy Conley (Larry), Renee Hudish (Tim), Wendy Warren (Kevin), Robert J. Frye (Deb), Lori Rose (Scott), and Keri Hill (Art); 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with another on the way; and a number of nieces and nephews. Bob's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his nurses, Grace and Heather, and the staff on Three South at Independence Health Latrobe Hospital for their generous support and compassion during this difficult time. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, in HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Olivia Graham officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard will follow in Unity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bradenville United Methodist Church, P.O.
