Robert Novitsky Obituary

Robert Theodore Novitsky Sr., of Latrobe, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born on June 16, 1942, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Pete and Zelma (Long) Novitsky. Robert proudly served eight years in the Air Force. He was an air traffic controller at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, and enjoyed controlling for more than 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert T. Novitsky Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Donald Yackulich. Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda M. (Keslar) Novitsky; a son, Matthew Novitsky and his wife Brenda (Palmer); a daughter, Stacie Stemmler and her husband Carl; a brother, Thomas M. Novitsky and his wife Rose; a sister, Donna M. Yackulich; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Military services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard. Funeral liturgy will be held at noon Saturday in the funeral home. Private interment will be at Benshoff Hill Cemetery, Johnstown.

My condolences on the loss of Bob,(Bruno). We both worked @ PIT tower in the 70`s. Our shift had great times `Pushing Tin`, with a lot of laughs, easing the job stress. Controlling to the end, Bob will always be "Cleared to Land".
