Joseph Gallik Obituary

Joseph T. Gallik, 80, of Uniontown, died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his residence. He was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Oliver No. 1, a son of the late Michael and Susan Gallik. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Andrew Gallik. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mary's (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and VFW Post 47, both of Uniontown. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, whom he married June 28, 1946, Helen (Hadenak) Gallik; a son, Nicholas Gallick and wife, Diana, of Mt. Pleasant; four daughters, Susan Tarkington and husband, Rocky, of Denison, Texas, Veronica Boger and husband, William Sr., of Hopwood, Mary Ann Baumgardner and husband, Joseph, of Denison, Texas, and Patricia Hough and husband, Donald, of Hopwood; grandchildren, Christopher and Douglas Gallick, Teressa Farrell and husband, Jesse, Angela and William Jr. Boger, Alicia and Rebecca Baumgardner, and Donald, David and Daniel Hough; a sister, Veronica Gallik of Oliver No. 1; a brother, William Gallik of Oliver No. 1; and many special nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. when a prayer service will be held followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, where military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 47 of Uniontown. Parish wake service 3:30 p.m. Monday.
