Shirley A. Weimer

Shirley Ann (Kelly) Weimer, 79, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, in Ark Manor, Delmont, with her devoted family by her side. She was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Dale and Dorothea (Knickerbocker) Kelly. Shirley was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Tunnelton Presbyterian Church, Saltsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Barry R. Weimer; and sister, Ruth Swarner. Shirley will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert E. Weimer Sr.; sons, Robert E. Weimer Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Saltsburg, and Brett A. Weimer, of New Alexandria; daughter, Brenda E. Tamborski and her husband, James, of Apollo; sister, Margaret Pistininzi, of Avonmore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Beth Montemurro (Gabe), Raub Weimer (Deena Suhadolnik), Jeremy Hunsinger (Dina), Carissa Weimer and Chelsea, Leigha, Rachel and Josiah Tamborski; and great-grandchildren, Alison, Caleb, Madison, Delaney, Reese, Sadie and Jameson.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177. Funeral and committal services for Shirley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Entombment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, will be private.
