I am very saddened to learn of Steve's passing. He was one of my closest childhood friends. When my family moved from Windber PA to Hershey, we quickly became friends living only a couple blocks apart and playing on the same baseball teams for many years. Some of my fondest memories are he and I getting dropped off [usually by his mother] at Spring Creek Golf Club almost every day in the summer. We played 9,18, or 27 holes depending on whether we had a baseball game scheduled that evening.
After high school, he went West to Saint Vincent College and I went East to Saint Joseph College [now University] in Philadelphia. We lost contact for many years.
Several years ago we reconnected and had a couple phone calls to catch up. Each time, we promised that I would come out to play with him at Oakmont and/or he would come to Philadelphia and play at the Union League courses. Of course, life and the pandemic intervened and that never happened.
And now to know that he suffered from Parkinson“s these last few years makes me all the sadder. May God bless his soul and all his family.
