Thomas Exton Obituary

Thomas E. Exton, 85, of Washington Township, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at his home. Mr. Exton was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Irwin, a son of the late George and Louise Gilkey Exton. He was an Air Force veteran, having served in World War II. He was retired from T.W. Phillips Gas Company of Butler in the Freeport shop and was the owner of Exton Mower of Washington Township. A member of the Poke Run Presbyterian Church in Apollo and the American Legion. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy Rowand Exton; a brother, George V. Exton; a sister, Mildred L. Caldwell; and a daughter, Judy Wawrzyniakowski. Father of Thomas L. Exton and his wife, Kathy, of Omaha, Neb., Jerry Exton and his wife, Loretta, of Washington Township, and Jeannie Sloss and her husband, Lt. Col. Joel, of Cumming, Ga. Father-in-law of Raymond Wawrzyniakowski, of North Carolina. Grandfather of Theresa, Tommy, Bob, Jadine, Jennifer, Brett, Ben and Brian. Also survived by great- and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a dear family friend, Matt Pawlowski. Mr. Exton's family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday only at the BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where services will be held 1 p.m.Tuesday with the Rev.
