1956 - 2022

Thomas E. Krupa Jr., 65, of Huntington, W. Va., formerly of Johnstown and Irwin, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. He was born in Johnstown, June 23, 1956, son of Thomas E. Krupa and Marion (Znidarsic), of Irwin. He was preceded in death by his father. Tom is survived by his mother, Marion, of Irwin; son, Nicholas, of Yorktown, Va., whom he looked forward to trout fishing with, and daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Alex Parlock, of Huntington, W. Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Dezi Danko, of Irwin; nephew, Michael, of Irwin; brother, Adam, of Tempe, Ariz.; and his special friend, Marina Morey, who taught him a very important lesson about life. Tom was a graduate of Hempfield Area School District, Class of 1974. He recently retired from Alliance Healthcare of Irvine, Calif., after 35 years of employment. Tom did amateur genealogy as a hobby and was happy he made contact with unknown cousins not only in the U.S., but in Slovakia and Ukraine, as well. He was very proud of his Carpatho-Rusyn nationality and always took time for anybody who asked what it was. He was a member of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society, Southwest PA chapter. Another important feature about Tom's life was his love for the Byzantine Catholic Church, to which he belonged. He loved the Liturgy, specifically the Slavonic chant which he would sing along to. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BAKER-HARRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh, where Parastas will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Conemaugh, with the Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz. Committal will follow at the church cemetery in East Taylor Township.
