Thomas A. Pitterle

Thomas A. Pitterle, 72, of Greensburg, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Therese A. Pitterle and a devoted father and grandfather. He was born July 26, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis., a son of the late Leo E. and Anna (Bach) Pitterle. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering. He worked for Westinghouse Corporation and was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish in Latrobe. Tom loved his dear wife, Therese, his family, God, his fellow workers, his friends and his country. He lived a wonderful life and leaves all who knew him with much love and wonderful memories. His life is an example of love of family. Father of John Pitterle and wife, Leigh, Brian Pitterle and wife, Caroline, Colleen Pitterle, Denise Pinto and husband, Christopher, Michelle Griggs and husband, Richard, Maureen Pitterle, Mark Pitterle, Therese Pitterle and Kathleen Pitterle; grandfather of Stephen and Grace Pitterle, Cate Pitterle, Julia and Ella Pinto and Andrew Griggs; brother to James and Norbert Pitterle, Joan Boyle and the late Agnes Poliak and Lawrence Pitterle. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent Basilica, followed by interment services at the St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Vincent Basilica, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650 or the American Cancer Society, 863 Georges Station Road, Suite 2, Greensburg, PA 15601.
