Thomas Snyder Obituary

Thomas William Snyder Jr., 58, of Lakewood, Calif., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at his home. Mr. Snyder was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Jennie Testa Snyder, of Mt. Pleasant, and the late Thomas W. Snyder. Tom graduated from Geibel High School in 1969, and was a 1973 graduate of Villanova University, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was formerly employed by Lee Engineering Co., of Washington, Pa., and Conoco Corp., of Colorado, and was the former owner of Snyder Auto Parts, in Denver, Colo. He was currently employed by Sepor Inc. Engineering Co., in California. Tom loved NASCAR Formula 1 Racing, and enjoyed photography and spending time tasting and selecting fine wines. Tom is survived by his loving family; his wife of 30 years, Janet L. Anderson Snyder; and his sons, Thomas W. Snyder III and Patrick V. Snyder, both at home. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his sister, Patricia Mathews and her husband, John, of Topsfield, Mass.; and by his nieces, Bridget Colby and Zoe Mathews, and nephews, Danny Colby, Nick Mathews and Aaron and Allen Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Snyder, in 1997. Family and friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, at which time they are invited to attend his memorial Mass. Inurnment will be in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.
