Vernon N. "Dick" Davis, 90, of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Township), died on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at his home. He was born on Oct. 8, 1934, at Indian Head, a son of the late Vernon E. and Elaire Boring Davis. Dick was a 1953 graduate of Connellsville High School. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 with the 4th Armored Division. He worked at Anchor Hocking for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a past president of the Bullskin Township Little League, active in the Bullskin Senior Citizens, and was a member of the Indian Head Church of God. Dick is survived by his four children, Brenda Imel and husband, Rick, of Tennessee, Bonnie Wiltrout and husband, Karl, of Scottdale, William "Bill" Davis and wife, Carmen, of Florida, and Bobbi Peck of Mount Pleasant; many grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Branthoover of Indian Head; many nieces and nephews and their families; and his companion, Geraldine Cramer. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Lou Butt Davis; children, Beverly Davis, Vernon Neil Davis, and Brian Davis; brothers, Claude, Frank, Jack, and James Davis; and sisters, Lois June Glassburn, Pauline Newell, and Ruth Ann Davis. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday in BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Ben Tobias officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
