William Glunt Obituary

William C. Glunt, 79, formerly of Greensburg, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born July 4, 1929, in Altoona, a son of the late Clyde and Bernadette (Chirdin) Glunt. Prior to retirement, he had been a field representative for the Social Security Administration. He was a graduate of Shippensburg University; an Army veteran of the Korean War; and a member of the Suburban Friday Seniors Bowling League. He was also an avid runner, enjoyed square dancing, and was a former member of Alwine Civic Center, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Denicola) Glunt, of Greensburg; a son, Barry W. Glunt, of New Hampshire; two daughters, Cathy, of Greensburg, and Susan Ruzicka, of Harrison City; a stepdaughter, Alena Frieben and her husband, Daniel, of Trafford; a brother, Gary Glunt, of Altoona; two sisters, Ann Coho and her husband, Walter, and Janet Coursman and her husband, Robert, all of Altoona; a grandson, Angelo Correz; a great-grandson, Royce Correz; and his partner, Sheila Blosser, of Morgantown, W.Va. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Mr. Boyd F. Edwards officiating. Interment will be private.
