William "Bill" Kozemchak, beloved husband father and grandfather, 75, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital. He was born April 27, 1931, in Latrobe, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Kolan) Kozemchak. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe. Bill worked as a machinist at Kennametal and retired in 1993, after 43 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Norfolk, Va. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking, golfing and dancing. Bill was also a member of the American Legion Post #515, the Cooperstown and Kingston Veterans and Sportsmans Clubs. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Plessinger, Catherine Showman and Ann Stouffer; and three brothers, John and George Kozemchak and Mike Kuzemchak. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (Myers) Kozemchak, of Latrobe. Bill is also survived by his seven children, Sheri Kozemchak, of Denver, Colo., Karen Kozemchak, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Mark Kozemchak and wife, Stephanie, of Albuquerque, N.M., Jeff Kozemchak and wife, Diane, of Pittsburgh, Brian Kozemchak and wife, Tammy, of Elkton, Md., Ken Kozemchak and wife, Kelly, of Atlanta, Ga., and Lori Kozemchak, of Pittsburgh; two sisters-in-law, Flo Kuzemchak, of Latrobe, and Mary Catherine Kozemchak, of Largo, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Adam, Kelly, Sarah, Michael, Rachel and Matthew Kozemchak. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special gratitude of thanks to Heartland Hospice Care Team and Dr. Valerie Pricener at Mercy Jeannette Hospital for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. The St. Rose Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the rosary 2:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Military services will be held 8:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the American Legion Post #515 and the VFW #3414. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Rose Church with the Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
