William McKlveen Obituary

William J. 'Red' McKlveen, 76, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his home. Born May 30, 1947, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late William J. and Constance (Angelo) McKlveen. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Teledyne Vasco and was previously employed at U.S. Steel. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served in the Vietnam era. Throughout the years, he helped at the Latrobe Skating Center and Latrobe Billiards. He enjoyed bowling, loved fishing and kayaking, and was an avid pool and billiards player. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two nephews, James McKlveen and Anthony Harper; and his best friend and brother, Anthony Morelli. William is survived by his wife, Barbara G. (Harman) McKlveen of Latrobe; three children, Judy Hoffer, and her husband Jim, of Stahlstown, John Harman, and his wife Amanda, of Latrobe, and Julie Frydrych of Mountain Home, ID; one brother, James McKlveen of Darlington; one sister, Betty Harper of Latrobe; six grandchildren, Casey, Patrick, Felica, Chloe, Chiara, and Coryn; two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Emily; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. Members of the Latrobe Derry Honor Guard will conduct a military service at 10:45 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Pio Adamonis, OSB officiating. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or at www.cancer.org.
