A. James Orris, 87, of Natrona Heights, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his home. He was born April 15, 1927, in Tarentum, the son of the late Albert J. Sr. and Barbara Weidl Orris. Jim was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy. He retired from Allegheny International in Pittsburgh, where he was the supervisor in the Insurance Department. Jim was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, in Natrona Heights, and the former Boosters Club of the church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Natrona, VFW Post 894 in Natrona Heights, American Legion Post 48 in Natrona and the former MORA Club. Jim enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Balucka Orris; his children, Greg (Teri) Orris, of Allentown, and Dr. Cheryl (Dr. Henry) Peresie, of Muncie, Ind.; six grandchildren, Michelle (Adam) Sheridan, Deb (Eric) Cross, Megan (Michael) Miller, Tim (Joanna) Peresie, John Peresie and Julie Peresie; seven great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Betty Jean Pressley, of Florida. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Burial will be private. Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1526 Union Ave., Natrona Heights, PA 15065 or to Citizens Hose Ambulance Service, 965 Burtner Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
