Aaron Gromley Obituary

Aaron James Gromley, 73, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on July 19, 1952, in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, to Ruth (Kirch) and John Gromley of Upper Burrell Township. He graduated from Burrell High School in 1970 and joined the Air Force in May 1971. He spent much of his service in England, where he met his wife, Linda. He also spent some time in Italy, Turkey, and Florida, and his last station was Colorado Springs, where he retired in Sept. 1995. He was last employed with Odyssey Systems Consulting Group on Peterson Space Force Base. He worked until a few weeks before his passing. Growing up, he helped with the gardens and watched his younger brothers and sisters. He hunted deer, rabbits, squirrels, etc. He enjoyed reading. He liked westerns and history. He was a wealth of information. It was amazing what knowledge he had and things he remembered. He was a do-it-yourself person. He was also a darts player when stationed in England. He was predeceased by his parents, Ruth and John Gromley; and three brothers, Robert, Louis, and Joseph. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Linda. His surviving siblings are John (Devra) Gromley, Isabel (Jonathan) Stevenson, Adele (Barry) Smeltzer, Arlene (Bill) Blissell, and Jeff (Sam) Gromley. There are also many nieces and nephews.

My sympathy to all the Gromleys. I remember you all well from Aunt Gen's 4th of July gatherings. I've seen and talked to only a couple of you since those long ago days, but the memory of your family lives fondly in my mind. You were a wonderful clan and I'm so glad our paths crossed. Aaron was especially remembered as a gentle soul, sometimes I noted, as quiet, but always watching his brothers and sisters, with a smile on his face. In my heart, I know, he will continue to smile down on you forever. God bless you all.
