Born Dec. 5, 1903, in Glassmere, she had been a resident of Palm City since 1979, moving there from New Kensington.
She retired from New Kensington High School.
A member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City, she was devoted to her children and family.
Survivors include four daughters: Lorraine Conwell and her husband, Mel, of Palm City, Johanna Holka and her husband, Chuck, of Mantua, Ohio, Darlene Schimelfanick and her husband, Ray, of Stuart, Fla., and Beverly Klemzak of Palm City; a daughter-in-law, Alyssa Adams of New York City, N.Y.; seven grandsons: M. Dale Conwell and his wife, Anne, of Dallas, Texas, Todd Schimelfanick and his wife, Jessica, of Jensen Beach, Edward Adams, Mark Holka and his wife, Margie, of Ravenna, Ohio, Chuck Holka and his wife, Wilma, of Aurora, Ohio, Tim Holka and his wife, Carla, of Atwater, Ohio, and August Adams of New York City, N.Y.; six granddaughters: Jodi Dague and her husband, Keith of Seven Fields, Kim Dilla of Streetsboro, Ohio, Renee Simpson and her husband, Joe, of Palm City, Jamie Klemzak of St. Petersburg, Susan Sinclaire and Amy Adams; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward "Pappy" Adams; a son, Eddie Adams, a Pulitzer Prize photographer; a great-grandson, Corey Stefansic; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at the FOREST HILLS FUNERAL HOME, Palm City. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Kathy Lass officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
