Andrew Zanotti Obituary

Andrew D. Zanotti, 95, of Cabot, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Born Nov. 22, 1929, in West Leechburg, he was the son of Dominick M. Zanotti and Theresa Bosin Zanotti. Andy was a gifted athlete in high school and received a football scholarship to St. Francis College, where he was known as the Zipper. He also raced flat-track motorcycles during those years. Of the many sports trophies he received, he was most proud of his athlete of the year trophy at St. Francis. Andy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Japan. He and his wife owned and operated Zanotti Motor Co. on Route 8 South in Butler for 57 years, having purchased the dealership from his father. Over the years he sold a multitude of products and brought much fun and enjoyment to others. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot and the Western Pennsylvania Harley-Davidson Dealer Association, where he had served as president. He was also one of the founding members and former president of the Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club, as well as a life member of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group and the American Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Surviving are his wife, Doris (Doerr) Zanotti, whom he married June 14, 1958; his son, Dean A. Zanotti of Monroeville; his daughter, Anita D. (Mark) Peffer of Butler; six grandchildren, Andrew D. Zanotti, Sarah (Caleb) Costanzo, August D. Zanotti, Olivia J. Zanotti, Matthew A. (Maria) Peffer, and Nicholas R. Peffer; and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Henry, and Lydia. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald A. Zanotti, and one grandson, Vincent. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025, at FOX FUNERAL HOME INC., Saxonburg, PA. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen and Rev. Ben Berteau officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Luke Lutheran Church and School, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, PA 16023. www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.

A great, good, honest, friendly, hard working, fun riding man will be missed, but a good choice for God to choose, cause this world needs an Angel like Andy to help it out. He has been missed since closing the dealership, but an honor to have known him. I know SandyKay will be glad to greet you, show you the ropes, and how to ride with no motor needed. Sorry for your family´s loss. God bless and may you watch over us riders. See ya Andy.

We met Andy & Doris in 1958 when my husband Lee (aka Bumpy) purchased his first Harley Sportster from Zanotti HD. Those were wonderful years helping form the Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club and learning the correct etiquette and rules of the road from the very best instructors. My most sincere condolences to Doris and family. Bumpy passed recently and is included in sending this message. God Bless
