Anna Carricato

Anna "Cathy" Carricato, 86, formerly of Vandergrift, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, in Mountain View Senior Living and Memory Center, Greensburg. Born Jan. 23, 1939, in Vandergrift, she is the daughter of the late Howard and Beulah Hetrick Procious. Cathy was employed by the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office prior to retiring in 1999 after 25 years of employment. She had also owned and operated C.C. Ceramics in Vandergrift. She spent 51 years with her husband, going camping and taking trips to the casino. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Steven) Holliday of West Newton and Susan (Chuck) Gaffron of Irwin; three grandchildren, Sydney Holliday, and Jacob and Matthew Gaffron; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Carricato, in 2010; three brothers, Howard Jr., Lawrence, and David Procious; and two sisters, Norma Jean Holdren and Nola Jane Crawford. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, in DUNMIRE-KERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating.
