Anna Christy Obituary

Anna Mae (Reitz) Christy, 86, of Fawn Township, PA, passed away at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Born Thursday, October 27, 1938, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Anna May (Maudhuit) Reitz. Anna Mae graduated from Tarentum High School, Class of 1956, and went on to build a full and meaningful life as a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked at PPG and Alcoa and later ran her own successful cleaning service. Her work ethic and sense of responsibility were evident in everything she did. A lifelong member of Millerstown United Methodist Church and the Outdoor Life Lodge of Fawn, Anna Mae was deeply involved in her community. She had a passion for reading, completing crossword puzzles, and engaging in book circles. She found peace and joy in spending time outdoors, reflected in her love for walking and gardening. Most cherished were the vacations she spent at the Outer Banks, a place that sparked her love of lighthouses and collection of seashore treasures. It was here, amidst the beauty of the coast, that she created countless cherished memories with her family. Her heart was always open to her family and those she loved, offering support, lending a helping hand, and filling every moment with laughter and warmth. Anna Mae was married to Elmer R. Christy for 58 years until his passing on June 2, 2015. Together, they built a life filled with love and partnership. She is survived by her son, James (Cynthia) Christy of Natrona Heights; daughters, Laurie Christy of Tarentum and Donna (Roxane) Christy of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Shane (Dana) Chesher of Natrona and Christy (Kenny) Overby of Severance, CO; four great-grandchildren: Shayla, Emma, Anna Berkley, and Ellie Irene; sister, Leona (Ralph) Baker of Fawn Township; as well as nieces, Marcie Shultz and Leigh Ann Beacom. According to Anna Mae's wishes, there will be no public viewing. A private burial service will be held for immediate family only. Funeral arrangements are under the care of ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065 (724-224-7730). For more information visit www.petersfamilyfuneralhomes.com.

The OBX vacations and love of lighthouses must run in the family. Michele and I have been to the OBX 20+ times and have visited over 150 lighthouses.
