Arthur Corbin Obituary

Arthur Eazer "Art" Corbin, 80, of New Kensington, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at West Penn Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1928, in New Kensington, to the late Kareem Eazer Corbin and Marie Elias Corban. Arthur had lived in the area all his life. He was owner ad operator of Eazers Restaurant and Deli in New Kensington for 58 years. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in New Kensington, where he was a board member, Sunday school teacher, chanter and was a member of the first choir of the church. He was also a member of the Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch and a board member of the Lazarus Tomb Coffee House in New Kensington for 37 years. Arthur finished Orthodox theological studies with the Orthodox Church in America. He was a graduate of Ken High in 1947, was a avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Georgette (Moubayed) Corbin, of New Kensington; son, Arthur E. Corbin, of New Kensington; daughter, Sarah A. Corbin, of Monroeville; brothers, Edward (Carmella) Corbin, of Lower Burrell, Dr. Sidney (Freda) Corbin, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Ray (Helene) Corbin, of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Fred Corbin. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in St. George Orthodox Church, New Kensington, 1150 Leishman Ave. Trisagion services will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church by the Rev. Joel Gillam. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Arrangements by the JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-337-7504. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. George Building Fund, 1150 Leishman Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068.
