Athlene M. Novosat

Athlene M. (Begolly) Novosat, 93, of Natrona, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Platinum Ridge Center, Brackenridge. She was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Natrona, and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Idetta I. (Dietz) Begolly. She resided in Creighton, Palm Springs, Calif., and was a longtime resident of Natrona. Athlene graduated from Har-Brack High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Natrona Heights, the former Saint Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church in Natrona. Athlene enjoyed music, watching television and solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne Sullivan (Raymond Danik), of Natrona, and Rita Lynn (Joe) Kapalka, of Leechburg; two grandsons; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Novosat; her sons, Ronald J. Novosat and Jeffrey Novosat; and a brother, Ronald T. Begolly. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, in the PAUL R. AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 2 Pine St. at River Ave., Natrona, PA 15065. The funeral liturgy outside of Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the funeral home. Burial in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
