Carmen Matthews Obituary

Carmen A. Matthews, of Bethel Township, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. Carmen was a daughter of the late R.S. and Ruby (Hinderliter) Grantz. She lived in Bethel Township most of her life and was employed as a waitress in various restaurants in the community. Carmen was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James H. Matthews, in 2008; and a granddaughter, Katelyn. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Rodger) Weigand and Renie (Joseph) Favero, both of Ford City; granddaughters, Jodi (Michael) Coriston, Kelly (Eric) Bishop and Sarah (Matthew) Ackerman.
To honor Carmen's wishes, all services will be private. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Arrangements entrusted to the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg.
