Catherine D. Bonacci

Catherine Dolores Bonacci, 88, of Plum, formerly of East Pittsburgh and then Penn Hills, passed away peacefully Monday, May 10, 2021. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Paul Schawalder) Bonacci, Lynn (David Podolsky) Bonacci and Patrick Michael (Erin Smith) Bonacci; granddaughter, Samantha Jo Hodill; her many friends including her Clover Commons gang; and extended family in Ireland. She was preceded in death by her former spouse, Patrick V. Bonacci; siblings, Mary, Joseph, James, Jane and Theresa; and many relatives and friends with whom she is reunited! Catherine was an avid bridge player and volunteered time for her community and anyone in need. She was the last remaining family matriarch, taking on numerous responsibilities and holding the family together through the years. She was never afraid to speak her mind and provided an example of what strong women can accomplish. A Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, in Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church, 2000 Oblock Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15239. Interment is to remain private.
