Daniel McLanahan Obituary

Daniel R. McLanahan, 93, formerly of Leechburg, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont. He was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Leechburg, son of the late Frank P. McLanahan and Irene (McCoy) McLanahan. He was the husband of Joyce (Ward) McLanahan, whom he was married to for 70 years. He was employed by First National Bank of Leechburg for more than 50 years, retiring in 1981. He was employed as a trust officer, member of the board of directors and was also a vice president of the bank. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Leechburg, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Leechburg. He was a 1937 graduate of Leechburg Area High School. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Ward) McLanahan; his daughter, Pam M. Carlson (Rich), of Suwanee, Ga.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Prudence Pierce; and two sisters, Naomi McLanahan and Crystal Johner. There will be no public visitation. Friends are welcome to attend funeral ceremonies at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at CLAWSON FUNERAL and CREMATION CENTER INC., 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051, with his Pastor, the Rev.
