David Hamrock Obituary

David Hamrock, 72, of West Deer, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, surrounded by family, at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital. Born in Homestead, PA, on Sept. 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Clarence and Irene (Orenyak) Hamrock. A graduate of West Mifflin High School, David dedicated much of his professional life to public service and technology. He worked as an independent consultant for the Department of Defense and later served as an information technologist for Allegheny County, retiring on June 1, 2023. David married the love of his life, Sandie E. Reber, on June 19, 2021. Together, they shared a love for family, animals, and the simple joys of life on the farm. David was a man of many passions; he was an animal lover through and through, with a special fondness for horses, dogs, and his cat. He loved working the land, restoring and driving Corvettes, and hosting Sunday dinners for those he loved most. His favorite memories included a thrilling hot air balloon ride, relaxing beach vacations, and cooking and entertaining for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandie Hamrock; his daughter, Ashley Hamrock of Boston, MA; stepchildren, Lisa Pierce of Monroeville and Rob Reber of La Jose; and beloved stepgrandchildren, Tom (Lauren) Robertson, Christopher (Marcella) Robertson, Haley (Josh) Robertson, and Zachary (Chelsea) Reber. He also leaves behind a cherished stepgreat-granddaughter, Shelby Endicott. David is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Lora) Hamrock of Huron; niece, Angela Hamrock; and nephew, Michael Hamrock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepgrandson, Zeth Reber. In keeping with his wishes, visitation will be private. David's warmth, generosity, and steadfast love for family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. If you would like to make a donation in David's memory, please consider contributing to Second Chance Equine Association, a cause that reflects his lifelong love for animals and their well-being. Private funeral arrangements were placed in the care and trust of ADAM SIEMIANOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
