Elizabeth Cieslak

1930 - 2015

Elizabeth (Fiejdasz) Cieslak, 85, formerly of East Vandergrift, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, in Kane Ross Nursing Home, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 5, 1930, in Jasienica Rosielna, Poland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Kosciolek) Fiejdasz. Elizabeth lived most of her life in East Vandergrift where she was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church and Christian Mother's of the church. She faithfully prayed the rosary every day. A homemaker, she enjoyed doing word search puzzles and watching TV especially the news and game shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zigmund E. Cieslak, in 1963. Survivors include her son, Stanley (Nancy) Cieslak, of Pittsburgh; daughters, Mary Lou Cieslak, of Cincinnati, Patricia (Harry) Simmers, of Las Vegas, and Elaine (Tom) DeFelice, also of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Kristina Cieslak, Adam Zinsser, Bethany Zinsser, Sarah Zinsser, Steven (Tiffany) Simmers, Tracie (Carlos) Salgado, Nicole DeFelice and Jeffrey DeFelice; and a great-grandson, Alex Salgado.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, East Vandergrift, with Father Michael Sciberras as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
