Eric J. Kamer

Eric J. "Jim" Kamer, 64, of Brackenridge, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born May 26, 1945, in Harrison Township, a son of the late James W. and Cecelia M. (Simpson) Kamer. He lived in Brackenridge and Tarentum his entire life. Jim was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed as a first class mechanic and heavy equipment operator by Duquesne Light Co., now RRI Energy of Cheswick, before he retired in 2009. He graduated from Tarentum High School, class of 1963, and was a member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum. Jim was an auto enthusiast, stock car racer, enjoyed camping, his motor home for traveling, ATV riding and taking photos where ever he traveled. He also enjoyed locomotives of various types. He is survived by his high school sweet heart and wife of 44 years, Theresa M. "Terri" (Malinsky) Kamer, of Brackenridge; daughter, Adrienne M. Latini (Scott English), of Natrona Heights; son, Eric J. Kamer II, of Brackenridge; grandson, Frederick F. Latini III, of North Hills; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Denise Malinsky, of Mentor, Ohio; brother-in-law, Robert J. Malinsky, of Tarentum; also many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Relatives and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet St., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Martyrs Church with the Rev. Aaron J. Kriss officiating. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum, Frazer Township, with military honors accorded by Tarentum VFW Post 5758.
