Esther Holupka

1926 - 2016

Esther "Pasqua" (Bottegal) Holupka, 89, of Cabot, formerly of Avonmore, died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, under hospice care at Concordia Lutheran Ministries . Esther was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Avonmore, where she lived until her health deteriorated and she moved to a senior facility in Cabot. She was a daughter of the late Donato and Teresa Maccajon Bottegal. She married Charles "Chuck" Holupka Oct. 21, 1950, and celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death in 2013. Esther was a wonderful mother of twins, housekeeper, caregiver, seamstress and a great cook/baker. She worked at Federal Laboratories in Saltsburg as a secretary. Esther also worked at JC Penneys in the catalog department until her retirement. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Avonmore and the Fannie Sellins Lodge also in Avonmore. She is survived by her son, Charles (Anita) Holupka, of Harrisburg; her daughter, Charlene (Larry) Cinpinski, of West Bend, Wis.; her grandchildren, Michael Cinpinski, Karen (Eric) Cinpinski-Danielson, Theresa (Nick) Cinpinski-Rutkowski, Charles Holupka and Robert Holupka; a brother, Virgil Bottegal; a sister, Madeline "Nina" Runco; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Gemma (Bottegal) and her husband, Joe Dorton; brother-in-law, Bill Runco; and a sister, Elsa (Bottegal) and her husband, Steve Tandaric.
Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, PA 15618. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore. The Rev. Father Salvatore Lamendola will celebrate. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Avonmore.
