Eve Ruth Dixon Rairigh Elder, 85, of Kepple Hill (Parks Township), formerly of Freeport, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at her home. She was born June 11, 1929, in Kepple Hill, the daughter of the late William D. and Elvia J. Scott Dixon. Before her retirement, she was employed at the Butler VA Hospital as a nursing assistant. Eve enjoyed baking, going to bingo, making deserts for the local fish fry's at the Parks Volunteer Fire Department and volunteering her time at various places with the veterans. She was happiest spending time with family. She is survived by three children, Ethel Jane Stearman and her husband, John, of Kepple Hill, Glenn Robert Rairigh, of Washington Township, and James Milton Rairigh and his wife, Diane, of Allegheny Township; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia L. Reichenbaugh and her husband, Clayton, of Spring Church; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Rairigh Jr., in 1973; her second husband, Sidney E. Elder, in 2007; nine brothers, Donald, William D., Paul T., Harold, David R., Henry R., James R., George K. and Glenn R. Dixon; and five sisters, Esther L. Younkins, Rebecca E. Dixon, Burnice Bovier, Elizabeth S. Decker and Patricia J. Elliott. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Edwards, of the Faith Community Church, Freeport, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
