Garnet P. Ferguson

Garnet P. Ferguson, 91, of Springdale, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Amber Woods, Harmar Township. She was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Springdale to the late Henry and Elizabeth Black Wenzel and was a lifelong resident of Springdale. Mrs. Ferguson was member of Springdale United Presbyterian Church and a former volunteer for Harmarville Rehab Center, Citizens General Hospital and Meals-on-Wheels in Springdale. She was former secretary/treasurer of her church Sunday school and an avid reader. Surviving are son Warren (Alice) Ferguson, of Gainesville, Va., granddaughter Kelly George, grandson Matthew Ferguson and great-grandson Cade George. Also preceded in death by husband Paul Ferguson, son Dennis Ferguson, brother Bill Wenzel and sister Mary Elizabeth "Patsy" Sherosky. Friends received from 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Monday at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., Springdale, with the Rev. David Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery.
