Heather Burek Obituary

Heather L. (Rupert) Burek, 51, of West Deer Township, formerly of Lower Burrell, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 17, 2025, in her home. She was born Aug. 6, 1973, in Pittsburgh, to the late Jerry and Sandy (Arthur) Rupert and has resided in West Deer for the past 16 years. Heather was a 1991 graduate of Burrell High School. She was a legal specialist for Jones Day Law Firm for 11 years. Heather was an outstanding and supportive wife to her husband, Mark Burek. She was dedicated to their relationship and loved building their family together. Heather was a selfless person, always putting her son's, husband's, and family's needs ahead of her own. In the workplace, Heather will be remembered as a wonderful employee, coworker, and friend who was dependable, dedicated, and a confidante whom most anyone could turn to for a friendly face or smile. Heather's friends were a significant part of her life, and she cherished each friendship in their own unique way. Heather brought a bright light to every conversation and had a way of making people feel at ease and comfortable and also making people giggle with her sense of humor. Besides family and friends, Heather's dogs were her heart, and she loved them very much. Not only did she love her own dogs (Mushy and Daisy), but she also enjoyed helping other dogs in need. But most of all, Heather will be remembered most for being fiercely loyal to her family and was exceptionally devoted to her son, Brayden. Brayden was her world, and Heather loved supporting him in all of his extracurricular sporting activities on and off the playing field and spending time with him any chance she could. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Mark D. Burek Jr.; son, Brayden Burek; stepdaughter, Kayda Burek; grandson, Devan Burek; two sisters, Dana Rupert of North Carolina and Rochelle Penn of Natrona Heights; stepmother, Mary Ann Rupert of Lower Burrell; two nieces, Nicole (Brandon) Geibel and their son, Grayson of Butler, and Melissa (Ryan) Davis of Arizona; and sister-in-law, Lisa Burek and her son, Da'Vonte Burek, of Lower Burrell. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2025, by Pastor Vince Arnone, pastor of Forged in Faith Church, Russellton, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to West Deer Township Dog Shelter, 109 E. Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024. The first day I met you was the day you were born. I was surprised to hear your name as that was what I had picked out. Your mom and I were pregnant at the same time. You and Joey played together a lot and then Jamie 9 1/2 months later
The 3 musketeers. In the pools your house and mine, played together up at Camp Raymond in Canada. Your grandpa caught a snapping turtle and he made turtle soup. You Joey and Jamie in and out of the water constantly
So much fun.you were always doing something. And you had the long beautiful blonde hair.

Remember you Jamie and Joey running around when you were little. At my house and together up at camp Raymond in Canada. Where have those days gone? Playing in the pools. The fun days. There many more memories. She enjoyed watching Brayden when she had the chance.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Heather´s passing. I worked with Heather at Jones Day, and I fondly remember her smile and being such a nice lady. My sympathies to the family.
