Irene C. Shremshock

1928 - 2018

Irene Cecelia Shremshock, 89, of Lower Burrell, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Bel Air Nursing Home, Lower Burrell. She was born July 9, 1928, in Logans Ferry, to the late Michael and Mary Hornyak Mizak, and was a lifelong resident of the local area. Mrs. Shremshock was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, and had worked at G.C. Murphy in New Kensington. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, cooking, baking, canning and working with upholstery and drapery. She is survived by her children, Irene Broadhead, of Murrysville, Andrew (Nancy) Shremshock Jr., of Lower Burrell, and Elaine (Andrew) Romanczyk, of State College; grandchildren, Emily and Elisabeth Romanczyk, John (Chrissy), Anna and Michael (Heather) Broadhead; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ava, Blake and Riley Broadhead; sisters, Mary Etzler, of Florida, and Elizabeth Gladowski, of Grosse Isle, Mich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Shremshock; and brothers, Albert, John and Michael Mizak.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed at 10 a.m. by a Christian Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
