Janet L. Koynock

1935 - 2025

Janet L. (Koeberlein) Koynock, 89, of Bairdford, West Deer Township, passed Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Etna, to the late Ernest J. and C. Isabella (Love) Koeberlein. Janet grew up in Etna, graduating from Etna High School in 1953. She worked at the former North Pittsburgh Telephone Company, Richland, as a computer operator for over 10 years. Janet was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish West Deer, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the church Y and R, and Women's Guild, AARP, West Deer Senior Citizens Center, and the Red Hatters Club of Penn Hills. She enjoyed arts and crafts, swimming, and exercising, though she loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, William P. Koynock; her children, William P. Koynock Jr. of West Deer, Brenda L. Bahr of Statesville, NC, and Joni L. (Joseph) Hasper of Grove City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Constance Koynock; and siblings, Ernest J. Koeberlein Jr. and Alice E. Tymas. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, with a funeral Mass following at 12 noon in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, Bairdford, West Deer Township, with the Rev. Frederick L. Cain, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
