Janet Schlosnagle Obituary

Janet C. (Callen) Schlosnagle, 80, of West Deer Township, died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at Harmony of Harts Run. Jan was born May 10, 1945, in Pittsburgh to the late John F. and Florence (Skinner) Callen. Jan grew up in Murrysville, graduating from Franklin Area High School in 1963. Following high school, she went on to IUP to study and achieved her teaching degree in Spanish from IUP. Jan taught Spanish at Dorseyville Middle School for over 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, where she sang in the church choir for 40 years and was a member of the church's Young and the Restless Group. Jan was a very caring and compassionate friend to all, especially her children. She also loved her cats. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Larry E. Schlosnagle; her son, David C. (Cheryl) Schlosnagle of Vienna, VA; her grandchildren, Holden, Tyler, and Emma; and her sister, Marion C. Wike of Pittsburgh. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Dash. At Jan's request all viewing, services, and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at https://www.stjude.org/donate/.
