John W. Manga

1929 - 2018

John W. Manga, 88, of Arnold, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born June 24, 1929, in Tarentum to the late Joseph and Mary (Durian) Manga. Besides his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Joseph Manga; and three sisters, Elizabeth Manga, Irene Lucas and Sister Mary Manga. He was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, and served in the Air Force and the Navy during the Korean War with a year in the U.S. Infantry. He enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lucille A. (Gallo) "Honey" Manga, of Arnold; son, John J. (Jayne) Manga, of Lower Burrell; daughter, Kathy (Matt) Sobecki, of New Kensington; five grandchildren, Krista (Zach, fiance), Kelsey, Joe, Jessa and Jaila; and a brother, Robert Manga, of North Carolina.
Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
