John Shamburg Obituary
Born Jan. 14, 1942, in East Deer, he lived in Hyde Park 30 years. Mr. Shamburg was an eighth-grade civics and history teacher at Leechburg Area School District, retiring in 1994 after 30 years. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, Leechburg, the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Pennsylvania State Association for Retired School Teachers. He enjoyed sports and collecting trains. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Donna M. Gasbarro Shamburg; two sons, Christopher (Ruth) Shamburg of Allegheny Township and Matthew (Renee) Shamburg of Moon; two grandchildren; a brother, Grant (Martha) Shamburg of Mifflinburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Delores (Charles) Oswald of Oakmont and Barbara Smolar of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Mary Kraynak Shamburg. At the request of Mr. Shamburg, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Parish. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin.
