LaRue Ferrero

LaRue "Rudy" Ferrero, 90, of Apollo, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, in West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township. Born Aug. 25, 1925, in Kiski Township, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Marie Libengood Townsend. LaRue was Presbyterian by faith, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Ronald) Rowe, of Vandergrift; two sons, Timothy Ferrero (Marina Payne), of Apollo, and Danny (Karen) Ferrero, of Vandergrift; three grandchildren, Shawn (Jenna) Rowe, of Washington Township, Lisa (Keith) Szalankiewicz, of Ford City, and Chad Ferrero, of Vandergrift; and four great-grandchildren, Reagan Rowe, Madison Porter, Taylor and Eli Szalankiewicz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Achille Ferrero, in 2009; a sister, Betty Miller; and three brothers, Robert, Leland and Richard Townsend.
At her request, there will be no public visitation and services will be private. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DUNMIRE-KERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift.
