Laverne Sieber

Laverne Sieber, 95, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at Forbes Hospital Monroeville, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lower Burrell on Sept. 4, 1929, to the late John P. and Hazel Isabell Kunkle Taylor. In addition to her parents, Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo Sieber; daughter, Karen Sieber; and sisters, Pearl Crooks, Dorothy Matisz, Clara Capretto, and Wanda Toth. Laverne was a member of Puckety Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, dogs, camping, shopping, refinishing furniture, cutting grass, riding her tractor, and gardening. She especially enjoyed the time spent with family. She is survived by her beloved children, Eileen (Donald A.) Lorant of Allegheny Township, David Sieber, with whom she made her home, and Sandra Lynn (the late Louis) Lombardo of Upper Burrell; beloved grandchildren, Spring (Chad Kolas) Sieber of Murrysville, David Lorant of Allegheny Township, and Katherine (Edward) Baynar of Apollo; and beloved great-grandchildren, Cody Barron of Delmont, and Seth and Taylor Mahaffey of Apollo. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at RUSIEWICZ FUNERAL HOME in Lower Burrell, 3124 Leechburg Road, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, by Reverend Brian Kilbert. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
