Lawrence Mascara, 88, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, with his loved ones by his side. He was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Phillip and Theresa Falvo Mascara. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald (Josie) Mascara, Eugene (Rose) Mascara, Phillip (Amy) Mascara, Joseph (Jan) Mascara, and Ernie Mascara; sister, Nancy (Joe) Goerl; and brother-in-law, Tom Conroy. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Russo) Mascara; and father of Luann Deak, Anthony (Tony) P. Mascara (Jamie), and Richard (Rick) Mascara (Bita). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Maria Mascara, Gail Conroy, and Beth (Terry) Loomis; brother-in-law, Joseph (Moni) Russo; grandchildren, Nichole, Carly, Haylee, Anna, and Iyla; great-grandchildren, Araya, Braylon, Paislee, Gyanna, and Christopher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifelong member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 and a member of St. Agnes Church. He will be remembered most for the deep love and pride he had for his family each and every one of them held a special place in his heart. When you walked into his home, you were instantly treated like family, welcomed with warmth and a true sense of belonging. He gave the best hugs anyone could ever receive comforting, genuine, and unforgettable. God blessed him with a remarkable musical talent; he shared his gift freely with anyone who wanted to listen, filling hearts and his home with the sounds of his piano, accordion, and harmonica. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hazelwood.
