Leocadia Manganelli Obituary

Leocadia "Adda" (Trojanowski) Manganelli, 95, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at 12:30 a.m., in Oakmont Presbyterian Senior Care Center, Westminster Place. She was born March 17, 1918, in New Kensington, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Smejda) Trojanowski. She had lived in the area all her life. Leocadia was a homemaker, and a member of Mt. St. Peter Church in New Kensington. Leocadia had loved cooking for her family. Survivors include son, David Manganelli, of Lower Burrell; daughter, Judy (Bill) Callahan, of New Kensington; grandson, Bill Callahan, of Cranberry; granddaughter, Christine (Michael) Andrews, of New Kensington; and great-grandchildren, Jake, Julia and Cole Callahan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Edmond "Buddy Lee" Manganelli, in 2007; brothers, Joseph and Raymond Trojanowski; and sisters, Veronica Worthington, Ruth Lindt and Genevieve Trojan. At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in Mt. St. Peter Church, New Kensington. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice, 404 Freeport St., New Kensington, PA 15068. Funeral arrangements are being handled and entrusted to the JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-337-7504, Robert Jarosinski, supervisor.
