M. Baker Obituary

M. Alora Baker, 89, of the Shay area of Kittanning Township, died Tuesday (April 29, 2003) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin.

Born Nov. 19, 1913, in Kittanning Township, Armstrong County, she lived in that aea all of her life. She was a 1932 graduate of Kittanning High School. Mrs. Baker was a member of United Rockville Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir member, and member of the Kittanning Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, both in Kittanning Township. She enjoyed music, quilting, sewing, traveling, and doing crossword puzzles. Survivors include her second husband of 37 years, Floyd M. Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley (James) Woodside of Burrell Township and Doris Grafton of Buffalo Township; a stepson, Leroy Baker of Kittanning Township; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Nancy (John) Krofchik of Natrona Heights, Harrison, and Mrs. Bonnie (Roger) Gamble of Parkwood; nine grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Wright of Kittanning Township. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Meade Schaeffer in 1961; a son, George Schaeffer in 1997; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Elaine (Albert) Graham in 2001; her parents, Walter Scott and Agnes P. Schall Hankey; and three brothers, Chester, Stanley and Donald Hankey. Friends are being welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at CLARK CHAPEL OF BAUER FUNERAL HOME, 238 Main St., Elderton. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until time of funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. at United Rockville Lutheran Church. The Rev. April M. Dailey will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Burrell Township. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to United Rockville Lutheran Church. Visit at www.clarkchapel.com.
