Marie Miltenberger Obituary

Marie Faulk Miltenberger, of Ligonier and Naples, FL, passed away on Sept. 28, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1941, in Delmont, the daughter of Anthony and Elisa Bonati Faulk. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank (Florence) Faulk and Michael (Rita) Faulk; brothers-in-law, Walter Blake and James Miltenberger; nephew, Randall Blake; and niece, Lorraine Barton. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Arthur D. Miltenberger; her children, Carol (Marcelo) Macedo of Bethesda, MD, and Douglas (Georgina) Miltenberger of Portland, OR; her sister, Kathryn Blake of Pensacola, FL; sister-in-law, Nancy Miltenberger; brother-in-law, Robert (Rachael) Miltenberger; and five grandchildren, whom she adored and lovingly spoiled. A graduate of Franklin Area High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Marie began her career at West Penn Power Company as an executive secretary. She later paused her career to raise her children, devoting herself to family life and community service. She returned to the workforce at Saint Vincent College, where she served as associate director of career development and continuing education. In that role, she counseled and supported adult students returning to the classroom to complete their degrees. She also directed the Saint Vincent College Challenge Program, inspiring junior high and high school students to explore academic opportunities. Together with Arthur, Marie generously opened their home to friends and to the wider community, hosting events that supported local arts and history. These included Art in the Kitchen for the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, a Christmas Decoration Display for the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, and a historic house tour benefiting the Westmoreland County Historical Society. Marie lived life with joy, curiosity, generosity, and warmth. She and Arthur traveled widely, always eager to discover new places, immerse themselves in history, and experience different cultures. She had a refined appreciation for art, fine cuisine, and wine, which she paired with her own exceptional skill in the kitchen. Family and friends will remember Marie as a talented cook who delighted in preparing memorable meals and as a gracious hostess who filled her home with laughter and hospitality. Her delightful sense of humor and quick wit made her company a joy to all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at the Saint Vincent Basilica. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Marie's memory to Saint Vincent College and Archabbey, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
