Mark Hanby Obituary

Mark Hanby, formerly of Natrona Heights, unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017. He had just celebrated his 54th birthday Nov. 5. Mark leaves behind his beloved wife, Melissa (Smith) Hanby; and two daughters, Emma Hanby (Lance Stumpf) and Rebecca Lang (Jake); their dog, Charlie; and cat, Dino; as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick B. Hanby; his mother, Frances M. (Lucas) Hanby; and his brother, Fred B. Hanby Jr. Mark was a jack of all trades. He was the family handyman that could fix anything with a little WD-40 and duct tape, as well as the mechanic that could fix the car anytime it was making a new sound. He was his daughters' biggest cheerleader as Emma graduated from college and got engaged to her fiance, Lance. He watched as Becca married her husband, Jake, this past June. He and his wife, Melissa, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in May. He was the occasional fisherman, even if he spent half his time baiting other's hooks. Mark lived for the family trips to Hatteras, where he loved to watch the sunrise each morning with his girls. Mark will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26 at NHPC Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Natrona Heights. Those who knew Mark and his family are invited to enjoy his favorite desserts and share stories.
